Q. How does it work?
A. You book your scooter, either over the phone or online, and let us do the rest. We will bring the scooter to you, whether you want us to meet you at a hotel, house, campground, or park. We will bring any helmets you request, as well as the forms for you to fill out. If you need instruction, we will teach you how to ride to make sure you are comfortable before you start your adventure.
Q. Do I need a motorcycle license to rent a scooter?
A. No you do not need a motorcycle license as all of our scooters are 49 cc. The state of Florida does require a valid driver's license to operate a scooter.
Q. What do I need to bring when renting a scooter?
A. You will need to bring a driver's license and a credit card to hold the rental on. We also suggest real shoes (not flip flops). Sunscreen is always a good idea. Eye protection is also required in Florida. Glasses or sunglasses are both fine, but we do have safety glasses available for you to use if you forget yours. We also have full helmets available to use.
Q. Do I need to wear a helmet?
A. We do have a large selection of helmets available for you to use at no extra charge. Helmets are required for any driver or rider under the age of 21. By state law, helmets are not required for renters over 21, though we do strongly suggest them for you own safety.
Q. Are there any extra fees?
A. There are no hidden fees at Amelia Island Adventure Rentals. All scooter rentals include helmets, eye protection, and a full tank of gas.
Q. What if I have never ridden a scooter?
A. We have had riders of all ages, experienced and unexperienced. We will make sure you are comfortable on the scooter before taking off on your adventure.
Q. Do you offer any discounts?
A. We do! We offer military discounts (active duty and retired) as well as discounts for Nassau County residents. We offer a group discount for 3 or more scooters.
Q. Can I rent a scooter same day?
A. Since we are a delivery service and book up quickly, we strongly suggest that you book your scooter in advance to make sure we have scooters available. We do require at least an hour advance notice.
